"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
โ Psalm 118:24
There's something magical about the early morning hours when the world is still quiet, and our hearts can more easily tune into God's whisper. Before the demands of the day begin to pull at our attention, we have a precious opportunity to center ourselves in Christ.
Starting your day with God isn't just a religious routineโit's a transformative practice that shapes how we see ourselves, our circumstances, and our purpose. When we begin with prayer, scripture reading, or simply sitting in His presence, we're acknowledging that our lives belong to Him.
Creating Sacred Space
You don't need a perfect setup or hours of time. Sometimes the most profound encounters with God happen in the simplest moments. Set aside even 10-15 minutes each morning to:
- Read a few verses from Scripture
- Thank God for three specific things
- Ask for His guidance for the day ahead
- Surrender your plans to His will
As you make this a consistent practice, you'll begin to notice how differently you approach challenges, relationships, and opportunities. There's a peace that comes from knowing you've already connected with the One who holds your day in His hands.
Reflection Question
What would change about your day if you truly believed that God has prepared good works for you to walk in? How might starting your morning with Him help you recognize these opportunities?
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
